Kast and Paz open the way in La Paz to normalising Chile-Bolivia relations

Chile and Bolivia agreed to move toward normalising diplomatic relations and signed economic integration and border security agreements during a presidential visit in La Paz. They did not announce the restoration of embassies.

The President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Luis Arce, reaffirmed that the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Bolivia and Chile can only occur within the framework of the solution to the pending maritime issue because Bolivia's right to the sea is inalienable and imprescriptible.
