The National Weather Service in Mobile issued a Special Marine Warning through 5:45 p.m. CDT on October 4 for coastal waters from Pensacola to Pascagoula, Mississippi Sound, and North and South Mobile Bay. A strong thunderstorm near Farewell Buoy was reported capable of producing waterspouts and wind gusts of at least 34 knots.
