Uruguay ranks third in Latin America for international air passengers per capita

Uruguay ranked third in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2025 for international air passengers per inhabitant, according to Airports Council International figures presented in Lima this week. The ranking is noted despite Uruguay's small share of the region's total traffic.

Per capita passenger kilometers from air travel, 2018. Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPK) measures the number of kilometers traveled by paying passengers. Both domestic and international air travel are included here. International flights are allocated to the country of departure.
